Occasionally network coordinators or guest speakers may wish to share meeting resources with network members prior to or shortly following a network meeting. If this is the case, network members can access these meeting resources via your MHPN Account.
To view the meeting resources, follow these steps:
Network directories are member resources designed to help current network members stay connected outside of MHPN meetings, facilitate referral pathways and support distributing relevant information.
To view a network’s directory, click on the network page (accessed via the My Networks section on your Dashboard).
From the network page, click on the Network Directory button in the upper right hand corner. This will generate the most up to date details of network members who are active network members (meaning they have attended a meeting for that network in the last two years) and opted-in to being included in the network’s directory.
If you do not see a member’s details but would like to get in contact with them, please email our team at networks@mhpn.org.au with the member’s FULL NAME and the context in which you met / would like to contact them / any other relevant information.
Please note: Due to privacy preferences, outside of the network directory MHPN are unable to share network members’ contact details with other members upon request. However, we may be able to forward your request to that member for their consideration. Please email our team if you would like our assistance in this.

MHPN’s Network support is funded by the Australian Federal Government, and all networks are therefore required to meet the below criteria to access MHPN’s administrative, financial, and strategic support.
MHPN Networks must:
When applying to start a network, MHPN Project Officers will review existing Networks in the area and/or mental health field of focus to determine if a new Network can be established.
To check RSVPs:
Alternatively, call your Project Officer and they can tell you.
Please be aware that even though you can download this list, it isn’t an Attendance Sheet. Your Project Officer will send your Attendance Sheet before the meeting.
To view outstanding attendance records:
Please provide any outstanding attendance records to your MHPN Project Officer as soon as you can to allow Statements of Attendance to be issued to members as quickly as possible.
Coordinator MHPN Accounts provide access to information about their network that isn’t available to members. This includes:
Meeting budget
The amount of funding allocated to each meeting varies depending on:
If the funding allocated for a meeting is not fully spent, it can be rolled over and used to fund future meetings in the same financial year.
Expense reimbursement
Keep all associated receipts and complete and return the Network Coordinator Reimbursement Form to your Project Officer. Your Project Officer can also email you the Form if that’s easier.
MHPN aims to pay all reimbursements within two business days. The payment needs to be cleared by your bank – the time this takes may vary depending on your bank’s procedures.
MHPN uses Zoom to host online network meetings. Your Project Officer will set up the meeting in MHPN’s Zoom account and provide you with all the details and assistance you need to run the online meeting. Members will receive a link to the Zoom room in the Invitation and Confirmation emails. It will also be available on the Meeting page in the Portal.
Your Project Officer will provide a Technical Briefing to help familiarise you with Zoom. Unable to access Zoom? Your Project Officer will work with you to find another option.
Can the meeting be recorded?
While Zoom does allow for meetings to be recorded, due to Privacy considerations for all members and presenters, MHPN Network meetings are not to be recorded.
How do online network meetings differ from a webinar?
Unlike webinars, network meetings are only attended by members of that network, whereas MHPN webinars are an open invitation to a wider national audience. Network meetings also provide more opportunity for attendees to network and interact than a webinar.
Your network meeting can largely take the same format as face-to-face meetings. Many face-to-face style meeting formats can be adapted to suit an online format. For example, if the meeting features a guest speaker, the speaker can present and share their screen so the members will see the both the speaker and their slides.
Our webinars also differ from network meetings in how they are developed and delivered. Webinar panellists assist in developing the content over several weeks to ensure it meets the accreditation needs of MHPN’s partner organisations.
What do I need to host an online meeting?
This article explains the system requirements required for using Zoom (the platform MHPN uses). For the best result, use a headset with a microphone for the sound, plug this into your computer and utilise a webcam so the members can see you.
Your Project Officer will email you a ‘host key’, which gives permission to mute participants’ sound, share your screen (slide show) and other functions to help you facilitate the meeting. Your Project Officer can show you these functions and you can consider what will work best for you during your technical briefing.
How do the network members join the meeting?
Network members will receive a link to join the Zoom meeting in their Invitation and Confirmation emails. The link will also be available on the Portal’s Meeting page.
Network Directory
MHPN encourages Coordinators and members to use your Network’s Member Directory to contact each other between meetings.
The Directory includes the contact details, profession and areas of specialty of all members who have consented to share their details on the Directory. Please note, the Directory is only visible to those who have opted in via their account profile. To remain on the Directory, members must have attended a meeting in the last two years.
If you want to contact all members, for example to send some resources after a meeting, ask your Project Officer to send an email on your behalf. Please note, members can only be contacted about an MHPN activity or to distribute resources relating to meeting content.
How can Network Members contact me?
If you have consented to share your details, they will appear in your Network’s Member Directory which is on the Portal. Please note, only other members who have consented to share their details will be able to see yours.
Alternatively, members can contact MHPN who will pass on any messages to you.
Here are some ideas to promote your network and meetings:
With the support of an MHPN Project Officer, Network Coordinators are responsible for:
MHPN’s Network team is dedicated to supporting our volunteer Network Coordinators. Each Coordinator will work closely with their designated MHPN Project Officer to support the network and arrange meetings.
Network funding
MHPN provides networks with a modest amount of funding to pay for pre-approved costs associated with holding meetings. The amount of funding varies depending on whether the meeting is online or face-to-face, the location and the number of expected attendees.
Administrative and marketing support
The network’s designated Project Officer, in conjunction with our administration team, undertakes tasks such as:
Resources and Tools
MHPN has developed tools and resources that can help grow and develop networks. These can be found in the Coordinator Hub. We also have a dedicated meeting inspiration page to help Coordinators with ideas for their network.
Guidance
Project Officers, where needed, can also provide advice on meeting topics, guest speakers and member engagement. Additionally, MHPN send Coordinator Connect, a quarterly e-newsletter to keep you up-to-date with network news, trending meeting topics, tips about coordinating and other MHPN activities.
Coordinator Perks
MHPN offer Network Coordinators membership to an exclusive MHPN network with opportunities to meet fellow Coordinators all over Australia and access exclusive professional development and self-care events. Current Coordinators, ask your Project Officer for more information on joining!
Practitioners with a professional interest in mental health, with skills in leading and facilitating groups are encouraged to consider becoming Coordinators.
The responsibility of coordination doesn’t need to sit with one person. The Coordination role can also be covered in the following ways:
MHPN webinars generally feature a facilitated interdisciplinary panel discussion of a case study. Here are some ideas of how to use a webinar in a network meeting.
Option 1: Watch and discuss the full webinar as a group and develop reflective questions to lead a group discussion.
What you need to do:
Option 2: Ask members to watch the webinar before the meeting and discuss during the meeting.
To do this:
MHPN acknowledges that while many things have returned to their pre-Covid state, the Covid-19 virus is still circulating within the community.
MHPN will work with Coordinators to help run face-to-face meetings sensibly and safely.
You may like to consider the below:
If you need to cancel a meeting for your network, please contact your Project Officer immediately and they will notify all members who have RSVPed to attend the meeting, by phone, email or SMS text message (depending on how long before the meeting the cancellation occurs).
To cancel a meeting at short notice outside of MHPN’s business hours, Coordinators can send a cancellation email directly to members who have indicated they are going to attend. Do this by logging into your MHPN account, navigating to the meeting page and clicking “cancel meeting”. Follow the prompts to send the cancellation email. Please note this functionality is only available 72 hours before the meeting’s scheduled start time.
For further instruction on cancelling a meeting view the instructional video.
Statement of Attendance will be sent to members within four weeks of the meeting date, provided the meeting attendance data has been returned to MHPN.
MHPN’s Networks Program is a community-based program, insofar as Networks are sustained and led by the knowledge and contributions of Coordinators and network members. It is encouraged that Coordinators and members use their professional pathways and connections to identify potential content and guest presenters.
Your Project Officer can also approach speakers who have presented at other networks, as well as source potential speakers from the MHPN Guest Speaker Register.
For ideas on meeting topics or alternative meeting formats to presentations, visit the meeting inspiration page.
MHPN encourages Networks to resolve complaints wherever possible within the network, however if a complaint is unable to be resolved by you, the individual wanting to make a complaint can fill out this form, or you can contact your Project Officer who will initiate our formal complaints process.
Yes. MHPN will send Coordinators a Certificate of Appreciation after the conclusion of each financial year. These are usually sent in July or August.

If you’ve registered for a webinar, you will receive an email notification once the recording is in the library.
The number of CPD hours you are eligible for depends on your profession’s accreditation organisation.
MHPN webinars are generally 75 minutes, so your CPD hours will be determined by how your accreditation body endorses a 75 minute activity. This calculation also applies for self-directed CPD.
These can be located on the specific webinar’s page within the webinar library. Select ‘Undertake Self-Directed CPD’ and this will take you to the relevant self-directed CPD document.
These forms are for your records only, and MHPN is unable to provide Statements of Attendance for viewing webinar recordings.
Currently, only our webinar recordings have closed captions and transcripts available for download.
We are exploring options to offer closed captions for live broadcasts and hope to provide this feature in the future.
Panellists have generously contributed to our CPD webinars. Please note that they are not employed by MHPN, and we are unable to contact them or provide referrals on your behalf.
