The CALD Mental Health Professionals Network in Adelaide is a community for mental health professionals from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds to come together, share ideas, and learn from each other. While we’re based in Adelaide for in-person meet-ups, our network is open to CALD professionals across Australia through online meetings. This network is all about supporting each other in navigating the unique challenges we face when working with CALD communities, and promoting culturally inclusive mental health care. It’s a space to swap stories, discuss best practices, and stay updated on cultural competency and professional development.
This network has a focus on the mental health of those in the African, Indigenous and CALD communities. Network meetings consist of guest presentations, case discussions, panel discussions, and peer support. This network aims to meet quarterly.
The Dandenong CALD MHPN is a large network with a specific interest focus on the mental health of people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds. Network meetings consist of guest presentations. This network aims to meet quarterly.
Based in Forest Hill, the Eastern Suburbs Chinese Focused Mental Health Network is a small network with a specific focus on Chinese Mental Health. Network meetings consist of case study discussions. This network aims to meet quarterly.
The Brisbane Young Migrant and Refugee Background Mental Health Network focuses on the mental health needs of young migrants and refugees. Network meetings consist of guest presentations and networking. This network aims to meet quarterly.
The Queensland Transcultural MHPN is an exciting and dynamic network that brings together multidisciplinary clinicians and practitioners from all sectors, dedicated to improving mental health for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities. In doing so, we consult widely with practitioners and community across these sectors to ensure professional development needs are represented accordingly and accurately in each of our meetings.
Our quarterly meetings offer a vibrant safe space for professional development through guest presentations, case studies, panel discussions, and collaborative learning amongst mental health practitioners with expertise or interest in transcultural mental health space across the sectors. All events end with opportunities for networking, meaningful connections to inspire ongoing conversations.
