Peer workers play an important role in multidisciplinary mental health care, applying the all-important lived experience lens to an individual’s help-seeking journey.
That’s why MHPN is proud to support the newly created Australian Association of Peer Workers, the national peak body for the peer workforce!
Australian Association of Peer Workers (AAPW)
The AAPW is the national representative and membership body for Australia’s mental health and suicide prevention peer workforce. Established on 6 May 2026, built by peer workers, for peer workers, we provide the support, resources and connections that help our members navigate the sector and thrive in their roles. We’re working towards a future where peer work is recognised, valued, embedded and invested in across Australia’s mental health system.
Peer workers have the chance to experience the benefits of membership at no cost for the first 12 months. That means support and resources, connection and a sense of belonging, influence through our collective national voice, all of it at no cost, while the team builds what’s next for the AAPW together.
There’s never been a better time to join. Become a member today!
