MHPN welcomes continued investment in multidisciplinary mental health care

Mental Health Professionals’ Network (MHPN) welcomes the Australian Government’s continued investment in mental health and multidisciplinary care announced through the 2026–27 Federal Budget.

MHPN also welcomes confirmation of its continued funding, following the 2025–26 Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook (MYEFO), supporting the organisation’s ongoing role in strengthening multidisciplinary collaboration and practitioner capability across Australia’s mental health system.

The Budget includes continued investment in areas closely aligned with MHPN’s work, including:
• multidisciplinary mental health and wellbeing services
• workforce capability and provider training
• service integration and coordination
• youth mental health
• suicide prevention and aftercare
• community-based mental health support.

MHPN Chief Executive Officer Dr Daisy Brooke said the continued investment reflects the importance of collaborative approaches to mental health care.

“Strong multidisciplinary collaboration is essential to improving mental health outcomes and supporting practitioners working across Australia’s communities.”

“MHPN looks forward to continuing to support connection, learning, and collaboration across the mental health workforce.”
