As Victorians move into a seven day circuit breaker lockdown, MHPN wishes to express our ongoing support of communities across the state. While it’s challenging to enter a period of increased restrictions again, it’s a crucial step we can collectively take to ensure our communities’ immediate and long-term health and safety.
Like many organisations, MHPN has undertaken a number of significant changes to how we do things, in response to the changing needs of the health workforce throughout and beyond COVID-19. While our highest priority has always been the safeguarding of our communities’ wellbeing; over the last twelve months we’ve had to adapt how we support practitioners, particularly the coordinators and members of our locally-driven networks.
In the last year, we’ve shifted local network meetings online and launched our first batch of online-only networks. We live streamed more free and relevant online professional development webinars and released our first ever podcast program to date MHPN Presents. We also developed and launched the free-to-use MHPN Portal to provide our participants with real time access to their networks; personal data + privacy preferences; and past + ongoing records of participation.
Throughout all of this, we’ve been inspired by the incredible resilience of our many participants across the nation, who continue to play a vital role in the success of MHPN. While many of these changes haven’t been easy or straightforward, we’ve relished the opportunity to reflect on the ways that MHPN as a whole can improve our support of communities within the Australian health workforce.
Although this lockdown is a timely reminder of the ongoing challenges we all face through COVID-19, MHPN is proud to support the Victorian community and we remain committed to learning and growing alongside you all as we strive to provide more free, relevant, safe, and accessible opportunities for practitioners all across Australia.
