MHPN supports inaugural HNE rural mental health forum

In May, MHPN supported the Hunter New England rural mental health forum, Foundations and Frontiers: Expanding the Reach of Rural Mental Health Care.

Bringing together multidisciplinary mental health professionals, the forum focused on strengthening rural mental health care and advancing health equity. Key discussions explored cultural responsiveness, the integration of physical and mental health care, and emerging treatment approaches.

The event attracted strong regional participation and received highly positive feedback, particularly for its networking opportunities and expert-led sessions. Insights from the forum will help inform future initiatives to support a more connected rural mental health workforce.

MHPN acknowledges the contributions of its guest speakers and extends its appreciation to the University of Newcastle’s Department of Rural Health for its support in delivering the event.

If you’re a mental health professional interested in being part of informative and empowering conversations like these, MHPN’s 375+ networks provide ongoing opportunities for connection, learning and mutual peer support.
