Evaluation of MHPN’s webinar program from 2010 to 2020

Earlier this year a paper, produced by MHPN’s evaluation committee, was published in the peer-reviewed journal The Journal of Advances in Mental Health.

The paper, Supporting interdisciplinary mental health professionals through online professional development: eleven years of the MHPN webinar program in Australia, investigated the changes in practitioner engagement and outcomes of MHPN webinars from 2010 to 2020.

During this period, MHPN produced 75 webinars with over 53,000 attendances by practitioners, 57% of who completed surveys which were collated and analysed.

The analysis demonstrated a steady and significant increase in webinar attendance over time, as well as significant improvements in a range of qualitative measures.

Notable findings include:

  • 92% of practitioners indicated that their work as a practitioner would improve as a result of attending the webinar.
  • 74% of practitioners indicated that the webinar they attended was entirely relevant to their practice.
  • 78% of practitioners indicated that the learning outcomes of the webinar they attended were ‘entirely’ met.

MHPN are grateful to all the panelists and organisations who have contributed to the success of the webinar program since it’s inception. We’d also like to thank the webinar attendees who completed the post-webinar surveys, making this study possible.
