The Mental Health Professionals’ Network supported a Yes vote in the referendum for an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice to Parliament.

We are disappointed by the Referendum’s results but remain committed to continuing to support activities wherever we can that work toward redressing the disadvantages experienced by many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.

This will include continuing to deliver professional development to support practitioners to better meet the needs of those whose work helps to improve the social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We are also pleased to be undertaking our own Reconciliation Action Plan under the guidance of Reconciliation Australia and look forward to identifying how as individuals and an organisation we can take steps toward reconciliation.
