Victoria Park Network

In the inner suburbs of Perth, the Victoria Park Network has established a vibrant, supportive community of mental health and primary care practitioners.

Led by Network Coordinator and Clinical Counsellor, Dr. Genevieve Armson, the network meets on the last weekend of each month at the local RSL, to explore both emerging and established areas of mental health care. Since its establishment in 2024, the network’s meetings have provided valuable opportunities for professional development and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Genevieve describes the network as a “warm and collaborative space where local mental health professionals from diverse backgrounds come together to learn, share and grow.”

Network activity 2025

At meetings in March, April and May, members explored therapeutic approaches for working with refugees, the ethical and emotional dimensions of end-of-life decision-making, and working with clients presenting with eating disorders.

With broad interests across mental health topics, the Victoria Park Network connects a diverse range of practitioners, allowing members to better understand the unique contributions and scope of practice of their fellow professionals.

“It’s made possible by a dedicated group of volunteers whose support helps foster genuine connection and enhance care for our community” Genevieve added.

This improved connectedness between multidisciplinary care teams is at the heart of MHPN’s mission, as it translates to better outcomes for clients experiencing mental health concerns.

Through predictable, consistent and considered meetings, the Victoria Park Network is now entrenched in the local mental health community and flourishing with a growth in regular attendance. It has become a trusted, professional space where practitioners can navigate the challenges they face in practice together.

With support from MHPN, the Victoria Park Network is contributing to the improvement of multidisciplinary mental health care in Australia.
