When it comes to mental health, meaningful connections matter.

Connections are at the heart of what we do at MHPN. Our mission is to connect mental health practitioners across disciplines, locations, and practices, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. This World Mental Health Day, we remind you to nurture your connections, as they play a crucial role in maintaining good mental health.

Whether it’s connecting with loved ones, colleagues, communities, support services, Country, or even yourself, meaningful connections are important for mental health.

For World Mental Health Day 2024, MHPN staff embraced the theme of ‘connection’. We began with a five-minute meditation centred on ‘Connection to Country’, grounding ourselves in mindfulness and respect for the traditional owners of the land. Following this, we had fun with a craft activity: making friendship bracelets. This hands-on task symbolised the strength of our connections, reminding us that meaningful relationships, like these bracelets, require time and care to create. We concluded with a morning tea, reflecting on the ways in which meaningful connections can support mental health. Whether through personal relationships or professional collaborations, connecting with others helps us navigate challenges, promotes resilience, and improves our mental health.
