Dr Joanne Gardiner is a General Practitioner with a special interest in refugee health and refugee mental health.
Joanne works as the Adult Refugee Health Fellow with Victorian Infectious Disease Service (VIDS) at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. She also works in community health at Cohealth Collingwood, Your Community Health Preston, and Foundation House in the Refugee Mental Health Clinic.
Joanne’s work involves improving coordination and provision of health care; managing trauma; providing advice to, and liaising with practitioners on specific issues regarding refugee clients; and providing education on refugee health to GPs, specialists, nurses, hospital staff and allied health, in response to provider requests.
