Emerson Österberg

Emerson Österberg is a Clinical, Educational and Developmental Psychologist. They are the director and principal Psychologist of Healthy Minds, Happy Kids which is undergoing its own transition to HMHK Psychology to accommodate the adults who also attend the clinic. HMHK Psychology is dedicated to “Celebrating Diversity, Building Connection and Empowering You”. Working across the lifespan, Emerson provides psychological assessment and treatment in a range of areas. HMHK is an LGBTQIA+ inclusive environment, specifically providing gender affirming care to transgender and gender diverse people.

Emerson is a board approved supervisor. Emerson also consults with schools on LGBTQIA+ issues. Emerson delivers a range of professional development activities, and guest lectures at a number of universities across NSW. More recently Emerson was engaged as a consultant to the ABC, working on the “Miki vs the World” television series. Emerson is a Fellow of the Australian Psychological Society, and a member of both the Clinical College and Educational and Developmental College. Emerson is the convenor of the Diverse Bodies, Genders and Sexualities Interest group. Emerson is a member of AusPATH (Australian Professional Association for Trans Heath) and part of the Education Committee. Emerson is a member of WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgender Health) and currently completing their WPATH certification. Emerson is also part of the Gender Health Training Institute and Trans Family Alliance.
