Sophie Lucas is a Mental Health Advocate and Mental Health Peer Worker for Project Air Strategy, and a Peer Educator for NSW Health. Working alongside clinicians at Project Air Strategy, Sophie shares her insights and lived experience of Borderline Personality Disorder.

Co-facilitating a peer and clinician led group throughout 2022, Sophie opens up conversations to break down the stigma surrounding complex mental illness and Borderline Personality Disorder. She does this by creating safe spaces for others to talk about their own experiences.

As a peer worker within the group, she shares skills that helped her through tough times as well as when different skills can be put into practice.

Sophie Lucas has presented on the following MHPN activities:

The Mental Health Professionals’ Network (MHPN) respectfully acknowledges the Wurundjeri and the Boonwurrung people of the Kulin nation, the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land on which our office is situated. We also acknowledge Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and pay our respects to their Elders past and present. Find out more.
