The network brings together practitioners interested in better outcomes for people experiencing mental health-substanceuse. The network meetings provide a forum for practitioners all over Australia, to get professional development, connect, build relationships, provide peer support and improve referral pathways. The network aims to meet four times per year, and network meetings consists of presentations, guest speakers, case discussions and peer support.
The Online Lifestyle Medicine Mental Health Professional Network brings together practitioners from across Australia with a shared interest in the intersection of lifestyle medicine and mental health. This network provides a collaborative space for Social Workers, Psychologists, Counsellors, Psychiatrists, General practitioners, Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Dietitians, Exercise Physiologists and other allied health practitioners to connect, learn and share knowledge. Together, we will explore the growing evidence for Lifestyle Medicine in supporting mental health, including nutrition, movement, sleep, stress reduction, social connection and reducing harmful substanceuse including tech time, while recognising the importance of trauma-informed, person-centred care. Meetings will include discussion of current research, practical clinical applications, guest speakers, case reflections and opportunities to strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration and referral pathways. Whether you are experienced in Lifestyle Medicine or simply curious about its role in mental health care, you are warmly invited to join this supportive community of practice and our quarterly meetings.
