Assoc Prof Kim Foster

Mental Health Nurse, NSW

Kim is Associate Professor Mental Health Nursing at Sydney Nursing School, University of Sydney. She has a longstanding interest in addressing the experiences and needs of children and families living with mental illness, and represents the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses on the National Reference Group of the COPMI Initiative.

Kim’s areas of research include resilience in children and families where parents have mental illness; and emotional intelligence in healthcare professionals. In 2011 she was awarded a Winston Churchill Fellowship to investigate programs for building resilience in children and families where parents have mental illness.
