She has led St John of God Subiaco, Raphael Centre as Director of Psychiatry since it’s foundation in 2003. St John of God Raphael Centres provide a range of services to parents and families affected by anxiety, stress, or depression during pregnancy and following childbirth.  Caroline’s focus has been on the infant-parent relationship, and on working psychotherapeutically with parents in a way that includes reflection on attachment relationships.

Her research interest is on the transition to parenthood. Other interests include developing innovative programs for engaging hard-to-reach groups within the field of perinatal and infant mental health.

Caroline is currently involved in a research program known as the Take Up of Postnatal Services.  The program aims to survey about 3500 WA women who have had a baby at a private hospital in a six-month period last year to see how they managed with the physical and psychological demands of motherhood.

Dr Caroline Zanetti has presented on the following MHPN activities:

The Mental Health Professionals’ Network (MHPN) respectfully acknowledges the Wurundjeri and the Boon Wurrung people of the Kulin nation, the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land on which our office is situated.
