Dr. Joel Wright is a proud Wakka Wakka man. His family moved to America when he was a child, and he returned to Australia in his 20s. After working in the mines in Kalgoorlie for 2 years, Joel studied accounting at UQ, and then studied medicine, graduating in 2014. For 5 years he worked as a PHO in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and then 2 years in Emergency before moving into General Practice. He has been working at Yulu-Barri-Ba on Nth Stradbroke Island, Minjeribah since 2023. He truly enjoys the privilege serving his community as a GP and plans to remain for years to come.
