Jasmine Deakin

Social Worker with lived experience, SA

Jasmine Deakin is a qualified Social Worker who has a lived experience of being autistic (and having ADHD). As a young person navigating the mental health system then the disability system; this has not only come with confusion and hardship, but also triumph!

Throughout her own journey, Jasmine has spent her career supporting people in areas including education, employment, and disability services. She is currently working to coordinate programs and supports at Sunny Spectrum Supports in Adelaide, a proudly autistic-led provider.

Through her work, her community, and her own experiences: Jasmine can provide unique professional – and lived – perspectives into the experiences of young neurodivergent people as they navigate the complex transitions into adulthood.

Jasmine Deakin has presented on the following MHPN activities:

The Mental Health Professionals’ Network (MHPN) respectfully acknowledges the Wurundjeri and the Boon Wurrung people of the Kulin nation, the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land on which our office is situated. We also acknowledge Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.
