Karen Green

Social Worker

Karen Green is the North Queensland Assistant Director Clinical Coordination with Open Arms Veterans and Families Counselling.
Karen is an accredited Mental Health Social Worker with over 25 years of clinical, organisational, supervisory and executive leadership experience. For the past two decades, she has specialised in the provision, development and coordination of evidence informed, recovery-oriented, veteran and family centred mental health services for Australian Defence Force (ADF) members, veterans and families in locations around Australia.

Karen has been awarded three international scholarships, one of which resulted in her engaging as a research / practice consultant with Fordham University Graduate School of Social Services (New York) working on an study of the scope of international military social work practice in over 25 countries. Her specialist subject matter knowledge of military social work has provided her with opportunities to present to audiences in Canada, USA, Italy, France, Singapore and at conferences across Australia.
