Lauren has been a Registered Psychologist in Victoria since 1990 and a Member of the Australian Psychological Society since 1993. Her background is as a Secondary Teacher (Biology and Psychology) in three rural settings before undertaking a Graduate Diploma in Applied Child Psychology and becoming a Psychologist for the Education Department, travelling to surrounding schools over a twenty year period.
More recently, Lauren has conducted Intellectual Assessments to determine eligibility for funding for schooling, and been in Private Practice in Hamilton counselling children, adolescents and adults via Mental Health Care Plans from GPs.
Other areas of expertise and experience include: facilitating Positive Parenting Programs, conducting part of the Antenatal Classes (Stress) for 10 years, the EAP Program at Hamilton Base Hospital, serving on the committee for the local Emergency Housing Program for five years, and completing Emergency Management Training, including the treatment of PTSD.
In Hamilton, Victoria (near the SA border), Lauren has used Skype and FaceTime with clients who have Private Health Cover or EAP entitlements, some of whom have a 400 kilometre round trip if they attend sessions in her rooms.
