Social Worker, NSW
Panellists have generously contributed to our CPD webinars. Please note that they are not employed by MHPN, and we are unable to contact them or provide referrals on your behalf. Please do not send us patient details.

Matthew is a social worker who currently works in private practice. He has previously worked in a number of roles over the years, as a clinical lead, assisted with trauma recovery from the 2019 bushfires, and for the Department of Education Victoria.

Matthew works with complex and vulnerable young people who often have competing and difficult to manage needs. This includes supervising other clinicians and supporting young people and their families, as well as providing ongoing and intensive therapy. His primary model is an attachment focused and relational approach to therapy, as often for young people many issues emerge in relation to and with others.

Matthew Povey has presented on the following MHPN activities:

The Mental Health Professionals’ Network (MHPN) respectfully acknowledges the Wurundjeri and the Boonwurrung people of the Kulin nation, the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land on which our office is situated. We also acknowledge Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and pay our respects to their Elders past and present. Find out more.
