Nicola Palfrey

headspace Head of Clinical Practice, Clinical Psychologist

Nicola Palfrey is head of Clinical Practice at headspace National and a senior clinical psychologist and researcher in youth mental health. She leads national work on trauma‑informed and evidence‑based practice, with particular expertise in family and domestic violence, childhood trauma, and clinical governance. Nicola has contributed to policy development, sector reform and professional education, and is known for her focus on practical implementation that supports safe, high‑quality care for young people and families. In 2002 Nicola completed a Churchill Fellowship investigating How to make trauma informed care a public health issue.
