Sharon Leigh-Hazel

Carer and Carers' Advocate, ACT

Sharon has a lived experience of mental health issues as a carer and advocate for her mother who had bipolar disorder and is active as a carer representative. Sharon is a PhD student with the National Institute for Mental Health Research at the Australian National University where the focus of her research is models of care for older people with chronic mental illness. She has postgraduate qualifications in population health and has over 20 years of experience in the public sector.
